Professional Development Program (PDP)
Is professional development required?
Participation in the Professional Development Program is mandatory for all CCP and ACI designated members in order to retain their designation.
See the PD program guide to find out if you qualify for an exemption.
CCP and ACI designated members begin their PDP cycle on January 1st.
How many points do I need and when do I report them?
A total of 100 points is required within a 3 year cycle.
You can report your points at any time for your current cycle. Some activities can only be reported once per cycle. For example, if you report 7 years of experience in 2021, you can not report 8 years of experience in 2022. Please see the PD program guide for details.

Understanding Cycles
Please review the following table for an outline of how cycles work for maintaining the CCP designation. A cycle is the period of time a Member has to earn 100 PD points. If 100 PD points are earned, the cycle will roll over to the following 3 year period starting from January 1st to December 31st.
| Description | Start Date | End Date | Cycle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Membership Approval | 2015 | N/A | 2016/2017/2018 |
| PDP Cycle | January 1, 2016 | December 31, 2018 | 2016/2017/2018 |
| PDP Approved by CIC | December 2018 | January 2019 | 2016/2017/2018 |
| PDP Cycle (continued) | January 1, 2019 | December 31, 2021 | 2019/2020/2021 |
What if I earn more than the required amount?
You still have the liberty to register for a webinar, complete a short module or participate in any of the activities highlighted in the PD program guide. A maximum of 30 points can be carried over to your next 3 year cycle starting January 1st. These points will be automatically assigned to your professional development when you are rolled over into your new cycle.
Exemptions
The following features are offered for circumstances that would exempt Members from having to report their Professional Development Points:
